Welcome to Langford & Ulting Parish Council

Langford & Ulting Parish Council serves the local communities of Langford and Ulting, working to represent the interests of around 330 residents.

The Parish Council is responsible for a range of local matters, including commenting on planning applications, maintaining public spaces, and supporting community initiatives.

We meet regularly to discuss issues affecting the parish — members of the public are warmly welcome to attend. You can find agendas, minutes, financial reports, and council policies via the menu on the left.

Both Langford and Ulting are rural villages located within the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation Conservation Area, known for their historic churches, open landscapes, and the scenic River Chelmer.

Reporting Highways issues

We know a lot of your concerns are to do with Highways issues. Did you know that Essex County Council is responsible for maintaing our roads and footpaths? This includes cutting back overgrown vegetation, fixing damaged footpaths and repairing potholes. They even have the power to ensure landowners compelte works that impede public footpaths and roads.
